- UPDATED JANUARY 2009, BUT STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION -

NOTE: Sorry for the quality of the photos, they were taken before the days of digital
cameras.  They were prints that had to be scanned.

The DXCC & CQ WW SSB Contest awards earned from operating as JY8XY.

October 1995: This is Zedan, JY3ZH, host of the Arabian Knights Net.  Here
he proudly stands in front of the wood he chopped and stacked.  Now a
Silent Key (Jan '09), he will be deeply missed by many.

Enjoying tea and listening to stories at Zedan's house.
Left to Right: JY3ZH, JY8XY, Zedan's son Luai.

Saying goodbye until our next QSO, Abu Marwan stands in
front of his home in Amman.  His KT34XA on this heavy duty
tower always produced a huge signal into all parts of the world!

Visiting locals at JY6ZZ.
Rear, left to right: JY5HZ, JY5IM, JY5HL, JY5SK, & JY5DP
Front: JY8XY, JY4MB, Zeid (son of JY5SK)
Sadly, JY5IM passed away in approximately 2007.
Recently (December 2008), JY4MB became a Silent Key also.

At a cookout with some friends, Salah, JY5SK & I ran into these
Jordanian radio amateurs by chance!  They had the same mutual
friends so this was a completely unexpected meeting!
From left: JY5SK, JY5US, JY8XY, JY5(??) & JY3ZS(?).  (I have to find
the callsigns of the last two gentlemen in my notes.)  I had
worked JY5US several times over the years and he didn't
know I was coming to visit Jordan so this was a big and
pleasant surprise, for all of us!!
