Visiting Jordan and it's amateur radio operators was a dream come true for me on more than one occasion. Inspired by frequent contacts with the many Arabian friends I have come to know via radio, I was always more than anxious to travel to Amman and meet some of them personally.

QRV for the first time in October 1986, I was also active on subsequent visits in October '95, '96, and '97. I wish to thank the Royal Jordanian Radio Amateur Society (RJRAS) including JY2RZ, JY4MB, JY5IM, and JY5SK for their licensing assistance. Over 8,600 QSO's were made on CW & SSB during any spare time I could find while visiting there. DXCC was also earned from the thousands of QSL's received.

A special thanks to my long-time close personal friend Salah, JY5SK and his family who always made my visits to Jordan so memorable. In addition, for their hospitality and kindness, a big "thank you" to JY3ZH, JY5CA, JY5HX, and JY9QJ. There is a much longer list of JY friends with whom I shared time with, and they are not to be considered any less important. There is an even more extensive list of non-amateur friends (or I should say 'family') which still make me feel as if Amman is my second home. Thank God for email, I can easily keep in touch with them frequently via that method of communication.

I miss the people of Jordan so much and hope to travel there again many more times in the future to see them. Until then, they are in my thoughts always. "Inshallah" I'll have the opportunity to go back soon. If you need a contact with Jordan, I hope that in the future your callsign will appear in my log.
